Many thanks for your support and excellent care. We loved our experience here! The intimate surroundings and privacy were so important to us. We appreciated many things: that we were not kept waiting during our appointments, the time you spent answering our questions, the prompt response to phone calls, and the confident belief in the normal process of pregnancy and birth.
It’s hard for me to express in words how much I appreciate all you did for me over the past few weeks. This pregnancy and miscarriage were one of the most difficult things I’ve faced in my life and your love and support, caring and expertise were a great comfort to me. You guys are the best. The Birth Center is the only place I could have received the kind of support you provided
I am grateful for my prenatal care and especially all the support I received postpartum — the extra visits and phone calls that were needed plus the guidance I received since our baby needed hospitalization and surgery. It is difficult to put into words right now the details and deeply felt emotions that would express just how extraordinary the care was in our situation. What, perhaps, impressed us the most was that not only did we feel we received excellent medical care (physical) but we received excellent care in the emotional area as well. The ways in which the midwives and obstetricians worked together — showing mutual respect for each other — made all the difference for us. Please let each midwife know that the work they do makes such an impact on their clients! They are incredible people! (Nurses too!)
To all of you at The Birth Center — our profound gratitude for your superb medical care, tremendous support, caring, kindness, treatment of us as individuals, education of us on so many aspects of pregnancy and the thereafter. We always looked forward to our visits to The Birth Center — how do other people go through pregnancy without the caliber of care which we received from you? Every time I phoned The Birth Center, I was made to feel very much part of The TBC "Community" — you recognized my voice and knew my name — how rare this is in doctors’ offices.
I couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. I can’t say enough good things about the care and participation TBC allows. Our family was so totally cared for at TBC. It was such a difference from my first hospital birth. All of the midwives are wonderful, caring, compassionate, enthusiastic and, of course, highly skilled. I have told so many people about TBC and the wonderful experience I had there. I could never imagine going back to traditional care for any future children or well-woman care.
We want to thank everyone for making the pregnancy and birth of our first child, such a positive and joyful time. The competence, care and patience of all of you was not only impressive but wonderful to experience. The time spent with us at each appointment to explain and answer questions was invaluable to our confidence and excitement about the baby. The classes were also very interesting and helpful then and now. The care by the nurses after the birth and at home was excellent. We highly recommend your center to those looking for specialness of pregnancy and childbirth along with expertise.
The level of commitment on the part of the midwives, nurses and staff was impressive. Our only disappointment was in having to transfer to the hospital, but that happens, and our experience at Bryn Mawr Hospital was overall a positive one. My husband and I always looked forward eagerly to each appointment, as we learned so much each time. I look forward to continuing my care at TBC in the future, as I have never felt so relaxed in an exam before. The whole operation is extremely well organized.
I definitely felt that I was part of the team and not merely told what to do. I feel very confident as a woman who can give birth without much or any intervention. For the first time (after 2 previous children) I felt that I gave birth. I could tell others what I needed and not vice versa! I felt medically safe at all times and very emotionally satisfied. You’re providing a wonderful service and meeting a great need.
I hope TBC is a well-supported organization because the services you offer are invaluable to women and families. You showed me that there is a safe, healthy alternative for giving birth. For receiving quality care in a nurturing environment, I will always be grateful.
At our home visit, the nurse spent a good two hours or more answering our questions and reassuring my concerns on nursing. Before she visited I really felt that I was failing at breastfeeding but after having her actually watch me and give suggestions, I felt much better. Not only that, but she called me several days later to see how everything was going. The wonderful care and support we received from the staff is the very reason we chose TBC in the first place!
You all make each pregnancy so special — each birth unique from all the others. I love the personal touch at each of my visits. It’s very comforting to be personally recognized on the phone when you call. I can’t believe I’ve had 5 children with you — it seems like yesterday when I made my first appointment. I could brag about TBC each day and still have more to brag about. You all are so wonderful!
This was the second time that I had a baby at TBC — and as before, my care at TBC was just excellent! This kind of nurturing and personal attention provided by the midwives, I have never come across with any other health care professional. I wish all health care in America would be run along the lines of The Birth Center. The human touch — which is so prevalent at The Birth Center — is sorely lacking in health care all across America.
