Jennifer Brosnan, BSN. Neumann College 2003.
Jennifer has worked in the high risk labor and deliver ward at Atlantic City Medical Center in New Jersey. She enjoys traveling and has been all over the US. She hopes to go back to school soon to become a midwife or a women’s health nurse practitioner.
Sue DiLella, RN, BSN Villanova University 1984.
Sue began her Birth Center timeline in the early eighties as a volunteer. It was her TBC experience that drew her back to college to pursue her BSN at Villanova University. Her three children were all born at The Birth Center in “the old building.” Sue previously worked at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, shopping for vintage clothing, going to concerts, and exercising (she participated in her first triathlon, a breast cancer fundraiser last year). Sue resides in Berwyn with her husband, three children and Abbey, her buff cocker spaniel.
Carly Hampton, BSN, Cedar Crest College 2006
Carly has worked in labor and delivery, nursery, and post partum at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. She has also completed doula training and attended a conference on The Farm with Ina May Gaskin in the spring of 2008. Carly enjoys reading, working with ceramics, and bluegrass music. She hopes to learn to play the banjo soon.
Jamesina Harrick, CNM, CRNP, MSN University of California, San Francisco 2004
Jamesina has been working in the field of women’s healthcare since 1997. She has worked as a nurse in family planning clinics and hospital labor and delivery departments. Most recently, she has worked as a midwife in New Jersey. She is committed to women’s health education and encouraging individuals to make informed health choices and plans for themselves. She is dedicated to holistically maintaining the health of women and their families and keeping birth a natural and non-interventive experience. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and enjoys cooking, running, reading and knitting.
Trina Haywood, CNM, MS Philadelphia University 2008
Trina joined The Birth Center in November 2008. She is excited and eager to provide excellent care to women and their families with her special touch. She is married and mother to two beautiful girls: Sora 4 years old and Brooklyn 2 years old.
Anne Londergan, BSN, MSN, University of Pennsylvania 2007
Anne started at TBC in June 2008, after working at a non-profit clinic in Philadelphia. She has a passion for out-of-hospital birth and is thrilled to be here at TBC. Both of her children were born with midwives assisting--the second was born at home. She lives in Haverford with her family.
Lydia Prass, MS. University of Pennsylvania,1965; MS. Villanova University, 1985.
Lydia was a French teacher and Lamaze instructor before becoming a psychologist specializing in perinatal issues.She has been enthusiastically involved with TBC in one way or another since its inception. She has 4 children, 7 grandchildren and is a musician in her spare(!) time.
Denise Roy, CNM, MSN, OB/GYN NP. University of Pennsylvania 1983.
Denise worked as a midwife in several different settings before joining The Birth Center in 1991 and realizing she was "home". She served as the Clinical Director of TBC from 1991 - 2001. Denise is a Commissioner on the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers and is active in state politics affecting nurse-midwives and birth centers. She is also a proud Birth Center "Nana" of a grandson born in 1999.
Patty Siegrist, RN, Diploma, Polyclinic Hospital, 1971.
Patty is the Nursing Administrator for TBC, and is also a Lactation onsultant. With TBC since 1993, she coordinates the nurses, does many of the postpartum home visits, teaches breastfeeding and supplemental birth classes, and facilitates bimonthly Breastfeeding Support Group meetings at TBC. She is the proud mother of four, anxiously awaiting grandchildren!
Peggy Stone, CNM, MSN. University of Pennsylvania 1995.
Peggy became a TBC midwife in 1999, after 10 years as an L&D nurse and midwife at Hahnemann University Hospital. In 2002, she took over the position of Director of Clinical Services at TBC. She has a daughter in college and 3 step grandchildren whom she dotes over in her spare time.
Alexandra Wack, BSN, University of Missouri at Columbia, 2000
Alexandra graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1993 with a BA in BiologyI graduated from The University of Missouri at Columbia in 2000 with a BSN. She is currently working toward my Women's Health Nurse Practitioner degree at The Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing with plans to graduate in the summer of 2010. Alexandra has worked as a high risk labor and delivery nurse for 8 years in a hospital setting, and spent 3 of those years rotating through maternity, labor / delivery and nursery. Mother child care has always been her passion and she is so greatful to be able to do work I love. Working with The Birth Center the last 2 years has been a dream come true. It truly is a gift to be working in place so filled with positive energy and people who know their work makes a difference to famillies everyday. Alexandra is the mother of 6 year old boy / girl twins. It seems like last week they were newborns yet every age has new and exciting adventures to enjoy.
Ruth Wilf, CNM, PhD, SUNY Downstate, 1974.
Ruth has only recently arrived at TBC, in September, 2008, but she has been a midwife in the Philadelphia area for a long time. Originally a biologist, she came into the childbirth movement through having children naturally, and in the 1970s was one of the founders and worked at Booth Maternity Center on City Line, which had principles very much like TBC. Most recently she has been part of the midwifery practice at Pennsylvania Hospital for the past 20 years. Ruth is also active in CIMS (Coalition for Improving Maternity Services), the US Breastfeeding Committee, Maternity Care Coalition and other organizations. Ruth and her husband have 3 wonderful children and 5 fabulous grandchildren.

Administrative Staff
Pam Brechbiel, Director of Finance and Billing
Pam has been with The Birth Center since May 2006. She has a BS from Indiana State University in Management and Business Administrations, with an emphasis in Finance and Economics. Prior to coming to TBC, Pam was a Patient Account Manager for the Main Line Health System, Inc. She has a total of twenty years experience in healthcare accounting and financial management. Pam lives in Wayne with her husband Michael and son Aaron and enjoys traveling with them whenever possible.
Carole Kindling , Development Director
Carole joined The Birth Center in March 2008. She has a BA from LaSalle University and is a recently returned Peace Corps volunteer. Prior to heading overseas, she worked in development at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and the U.S. Capitol Historical Society. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with her niece and nephew.
Nancy Ray, Receptionist
Nancy has had the pleasure of welcoming families to The Birth Center for almost 10 years. Before that, she worked for an OB who was an advocate of midwives and natural birth. Nancy and her husband enjoy the Jersey Shore but their brightest days are those spent with their four amazing grandchildren.
Rita Reyes, Reimbursement Coordinator
Rita joined The Birth Center in February 2007. She has a BS from Eastern Illinois University and is certified in several computer software programs. Before coming to TBC, she worked as a Medical Collections / AR Specialist for US Bioservices. She moved to PA 5 years ago from southern CA. Rita now lives in Media with her two sons, Nicholas and Joshua. She enjoys reading novels, cooking and being in the outdoors as much as possible.
